Police in Howrah have uncovered a major counterfeit engine oil manufacturing and distribution operation following raids at multiple locations. Acting on specific information, officers raided a residential complex in Bankra and seized a large quantity of allegedly counterfeit engine oil. Two individuals were detained during the operation. According to investigators, the counterfeit products were being manufactured and packaged inside a rented flat, allegedly to avoid attracting attention from local residents and authorities.
Based on information obtained during questioning of the detained individuals, police subsequently conducted a raid at a factory on Mallick Ghat Road believed to be linked to the operation. The factory was sealed immediately after the raid. Authorities seized counterfeit engine oil, packaging materials, and other raw materials allegedly used in the manufacturing process. Police are continuing their investigation into the supply chain and the broader network connected to the alleged counterfeit business.
